It's been said that the only people who taste gin on its own are its makers. I find that gin is great on its own* but gin does make a fantastic cocktail, and there are many.
From the O.G. Martini, to its ancestor the Martinez, all the way to today's super-Instagrammable Negroni, gin is the foundation of some great drinks. This journal lets you indicate how you consumed a particular gin with easy checkboxes for some of the most common gin-based cocktails (nine of which are featured in my Essential Gin Cocktails print).

It’s tough to hold a notepad in one hand, a pencil in the other, and have another hand left for your genever. Taking notes with 33 Gins is as simple as checking a few boxes and entering a few basic facts.
The flavor wheel in 33 Gins can be used to quickly recall a spirit's unique flavor long after consumption. For low values of the flavor, fill in dots near the wheel’s center.
The cover is printed with a distinctive metallic green ink, and includes a secret ingredient: a teeny, tiny amount of real gin is added to the ink in each new edition, which is cryptically noted on the back.
Eco-Friendly
33 Gins is made with 100% recycled papers sourced in the Pacific Northwest. Interior pages are 100% post-consumer recycled content and covers are 85% post-consumer recycled content and 15% recycled content. The booklets are printed using US-grown soy-based inks in sunny Portland, Oregon.
